The bed was designed with several different specific requests in mind – that there be legs to elevate the frame from the floor to make cleaning and vacuuming easier, and drawers for extra storage space. A bed frame that has both legs and drawers is hard to find, it turns out.

Then, a few things to note in the arrangement of the supportive legs, drawers, and wooden mattress platform. The mattress platform (with rounded corners) extends past the drawers, to protect against the sharp edges of the drawers, and the drawers hang over the legs to protect toes. The height specs also come into play. The height of the mattress platform measures slightly under the knees of the client.

In short, everything was designed to prevent us from bruising our knees and stubbing our toes.
